Who we are
This website is operated by 3DPrint Galway (Company Reg. No. 775769), Currandrum, Claregalway, Co. Galway, Ireland. We are the "data controller" for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@3dprintgalway.ie.
What data we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your request and make your print. When you use the request form on our homepage or the order form in our Lithophane Maker, we collect:
- Your name and email address (required, so we can reply)
- Your phone number, only if you choose to give it
- The details of your request (what you need, dimensions, notes, chosen size and price)
- Any photos you attach
Photo location data: photos taken on phones often contain hidden details such as the GPS location where they were taken. Where your browser supports it, our forms strip this hidden information from JPEG, PNG and WebP photos on your own device before they are uploaded. Some formats (for example HEIC photos in some browsers) can't be processed this way and are sent as-is — if that concerns you, turn off location tagging in your camera settings or send a screenshot instead.
Technical data: when you submit a form, it passes through our web host (Netlify), which forwards it straight to our mailbox without storing it. Like any website, our host and the third-party services listed below receive your IP address and basic browser details when your browser loads a page or sends a form.
The Instant Quote Calculator and the Lithophane 3D preview run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into the calculator and the photo you preview are not sent to us unless you submit the order form. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools of any kind, and we don't take payment details on this website.
Why we use it, and our legal basis

Because we rely on these bases rather than consent, you don't need to tick a box to send us a request. We do not use your data for marketing, we never sell it, and we don't make any automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
- Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and runs the small program that emails your form and photos to our mailbox, as our data processor. Form submissions are not stored on Netlify (Netlify privacy policy (opens in a new tab)).
- Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) delivers the fonts used on this site. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details. No cookies are set.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc.) delivers the Three.js library that powers the 3D animation and the Lithophane preview. Your browser requests it directly from Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and browser details. No cookies are set.
- Hosting Ireland, which hosts our mailbox (info@3dprintgalway.ie) in Ireland. Your form submissions, photos, and the emails we exchange with you are stored there.
- Couriers and payment providers — only if you place an order, and only the details they need (for example, your name and delivery address for An Post or a courier).
Some of these providers are based in, or may access data from, the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (for certified providers) or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become an order: deleted within 24 months of our last contact with you.
- Orders: invoices and order records are kept for 6 years, as required by Irish tax law. Photos and files you sent are deleted within 12 months of your order being completed, unless you ask us to keep them for a repeat order.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Ireland's Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy (access)
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data (rectification)
- Ask us to delete your data (erasure)
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data
- Ask for your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission (opens in a new tab)

Photos of other people
If a photo you send us (for example, for a lithophane) shows other people, please only send it if they're happy for you to do so. We only use the photo to make your print.
Children's data
This site is intended for adults arranging their own print requests. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16.
